| Lauri Freking |
Lauri Freking is a native Iowan who grew up on a farm near Bancroft, Iowa. She is an Iowa State University graduate who began her journalism career in television news. As a reporter, photographer and editor at KTIV-TV in Sioux City and WISC-TV in Madison, Wisconsin, Lauri covered a broad range of news events from feature stories to spot news and crime. She spent six years as a producer for award-winning educational video projects at Iowa Public Television including School to Careers, Zoom Iowa and Student Voices. Lauri has also produced and hosted several IPTV electronic field trips on the Iowa Communications Network. A familiar face to Iowans, Lauri has been a co-host during Festival since 1999.
Lauri and her husband have three children and live in the Des Moines area. She currently works with clients across the country as a Strategic Communication Consultant for Wixted Pope Nora Thompson & Associates. |
