Melanie Hall, a home grown Iowan, grew up in a rural area around Carroll. She attended Simpson College and received her B.A. in Theater Performance and English. While in college, Melanie hosted Iowa Public Television’s School to Career Odyssey program. She also acted in several industrials and modeled for many fashion, hair, and make-up shows. Additionally, Melanie attended the National Theatre Institute in Connecticut and studied theater in Stratford-Upon-Avon.After she graduated from Simpson, Melanie moved to Chicago to advance her theater career through commercial and industrial work and independent films such as The Conversation.
In the fall of 2003, Melanie moved back to Iowa to pursue higher education and to replant her Iowa roots. She received her M.A. from Iowa State University in Rhetoric, Composition, and Professional Communication. Currently, she is an English instructor at Des Moines Area Community College and Upper Iowa University. Melanie recently finished filming the independent film The Atomic Nightmare, which was shot here in Iowa. She also hosted Mediacom’s Academic Challenge and the 2005 Fire in the Sky celebration.
Melanie and her husband, Mark, have found that Iowa is a great place to live, and are happy to be closer to their relatives and friends.
