Polly Carver-Kimm is News Director of the Des Moines Radio Group (KIOA, KRNT, KSTZ, KLTI, KAZR, KPSZ) and also the co-host of the KIOA 'Maxwell and Polly' morning show. A Center Point, Iowa native, Polly has been in broadcasting for 23 years and is in her 19th year with KIOA.
Polly graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, and began her broadcasting career at KUNI/KHKE public radio. She began as the news anchor for the Saturday Morning Edition on KUNI, then went on to host her own program called 'Collage.'
In addition to KUNI/KHKE, Polly was a news anchor and morning show co-host for KOKZ/KXEL in Waterloo/Cedar Rapids before coming to Des Moines in 1987. In her years with KIOA, Polly has won numerous local, state, regional and national awards for her news reporting, including the prestigious Edward R. Murrow award.
In her spare time, Polly keeps busy with commercial voice work. She can be heard on a diverse list of projects, ranging from narrating IPTV’s 'This Old Statehouse,' to the 'voice in the box' of self-serve car washes across the nation!
Polly and her husband are proud to be raising their 3 children in the great state of Iowa and she is thrilled to have the opportunity to host 'Living in Iowa.'
