Snake Alley
(Side Roads) Broadcast 07/01/01 According to "Ripley's Believe it or Not," Snake Alley in Burlington, Iowa is the crookedest street in the world. It was constructed in 1894 and is paved with cobblestones. Snake Alley consists of five half-curves and two quarter-curves over a distance of 275 feet, rising 58.3 feet from Washington Street to Columbia Street.
