The Shows (Feature 1213.181)
A Community of Character

Character does count. Just ask the people in Fort Dodge who have implemented a program throughout the community called just that: Character Counts! A national program, Character Counts!, is character education for both young people and adults.

Focusing on what it calls the six “pillars” of character, Character Counts! works to give people the skills they need to live successful lives and create a civil community. The six character traits are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.

Joining Morgan in the studio after the story about Fort Dodge will be former Governor Robert D. Ray. Ray is Chairman of the Institute for Character Development at Drake University. The Institute handles Character Counts! in Iowa.
