The Nadas
(Iowa Music) Broadcast 06/05/03 Their name literally means "nothing," but their music speaks volumes. This Iowa-based acoustic rock quartet has a marvelously transparent, folk-imbued sound which is a treat for the ears... and for the heart. The Nadas run the gamut of modern acoustic folk balladeering and good ol' Rock 'n Roll. Their songs are vignettes, little snapshots, of everyday lives and loves seen from a slightly different perspective. Founding members Mike Butterworth and Jason Walsmith share lead vocals, acoustic guitars and songwriting. Bassist Jon Locker and drummer Tony Bohnenkamp lock the band into one solid groove after the other. Frequent guest musicians Paul Wright on keyboard and Billy Hawn on percussion round out The Nadas sound.
