The Shows (Feature 1323.379)
Dream Vacation

In this feature, Peggy Whitson tells stories and shows pictures of her summer trip. It wasn't exactly a vacation, but it was the trip of a lifetime. Peggy is a NASA Astronaut from the small town of Beaconsfield who spent six months during the summer and fall of 2002 on the International Space Station that orbits 240 miles above the earth at 17,500 miles per hour. We caught up with her at public appearances at the Science Center of Iowa in Des Moines and at her old high school in Mount Ayr. And, along the way we heard some out-of-this-world adventure stories from Peggy while in space.
