It's Side Roads In A Manor

A re-creation of a 500 year old house in Salisbury, England, was built in Des Moines by a nouveau riche cosmetics mogul as a symbol or his financial power. By the time the house was completed in 1928, 3 million dollars had been spent for the remarkable structure and its contents. The finished home features four stories and 42 rooms totaling 22,500 square feet. Side Roads host Paul Berge gives us a history lesson of how this mansion came to Iowa.
