Barbara Fassbinder on AIDS

Barbara Fassbinder, a nurse who contracted the AIDS virus while assisting a patient in the emergency room, tells her story and advises other nurses and health care workers to use precautions against blood diseases.

Dr. Jack Stapleton, the head of the Virology Department in Iowa City's University of Iowa Hospitals, treats AIDS and HIV+ patients. He gives statistics about how important it is to use universal precautions to prevent contracting AIDS.

This story originally aired in the 1990s, and is re-airing as part of the "Morgan's Favorites" series, a salute to the many special people who Morgan has met in her many years of hosting Living in Iowa.
