The Raj - A Special Spa
Broadcast 07/28/06 Visit the unusual Iowa health spa that's been getting rave reviews by big-name spa magazines. It's the "Raj" (pronounced 'Rawzh') and that means "Royal." Located in the plains just north of Fairfield (it was one of the first buildings in Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa), this pleasant place offers visitors a rural respite. According to its owners, the Raj's "Royal" treatment includes more than just a fluff and buff. Dr. Nancy Lonsdorf and all the specially trained nurses and aides perform holistic "Ayurvedic" treatments designed to improve their visitors' health.
