The Shows (Feature 1407.672)
Old West Shootists

Every weekend, from April through November, smoke fills the air as bullets fly from antique firearms. Western style shoots are sponsored by The Fort Des Moines Rangers, a posse of an organization called N.C.O.W.S., The National Congress of Old West Shootists. This celebration of western heritage requires participants to use historically accurate or authentic clothing and firearms from 1866 to 1899. An event is more than just shooting at targets, it's history, fantasy, genealogy, theater, a sporting event and family entertainment. Paul Berge straps on a six shooter and joins in on the fun.
