Mike and Amy describe their music as "blue folkgrass" and "frontier blues." Mike's songwriting can encompass everything from modern country jam-band sounds to an obvious love for dusty, old Carter family recordings. Amy's full singing voice, more Natalie Merchant than Emmylou Harris, is a perfect counterpart for Mike's tenor, as they blend on tales of river life, beautiful days, and why love--though sometimes bitter--is mostly just sweet.
