Born in the sleepy river-town of Lansing, in Northeast Iowa, Krista began playing piano at the age of 5. With little opportunity in the small-town community to perform, Krista remained persistent with her talents, performing at churches and nursing homes, and preparing for entrance to Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. In 1992 she was awarded a piano scholarship and began attending Luther College, where she was a classical piano major. In 1994 she moved to Des Moines where she has been performing and recording ever since.
