A break from hot dry weather in the cornbelt hammered grain markets. For the week September wheat closed 15 cents lower. New and old crop corn contracts were down a dime. The August old crop bean contract fell 23 cents, and the new crop November contract closed nearly 28 cents lower. August meal finished 3 dollar 60 cents a ton lower.

The August cattle contract fell a dollar 26. But august feeders gained 67 cents and August hogs closed a dollar 27 higher.

COMEX gold gained 50 cents an ounce. The Euro closed 90 basis points higher against the dollar. And the CRB index finished sharply lower, losing 445 basis points on the week.
