First Farm Bill Hearing Will Be In Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Leonard Boswell says he will hold the first House Committee on Agriculture field hearing on the 2012 farm bill in on April 30th at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.

The Iowa Democrat said Thursday that the Committee is conducting the hearings out in the states to make sure it hears from everyday farmers.

Boswell will be joined by members of the Agriculture Committee, including Chairman Collin Peterson from Minnesota, who will lead the hearing. The hearing will consist of two panels that feature an array of witnesses representing diverse agriculture interests in the state.
