Supporters of new restrictions on the ability of government to seize private property for economic development say "no one is safe" and are pushing for a special legislative session to impose new limits.
This week, Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack vetoed a measure that would have restricted government's ability to use eminent domain to boost economic development, saying the limits would interfere with economic development projects.
Several people came forward saying they would suffer serious economic harm if the restrictions aren't passed.

Vilsack has offered to negotiate with lawmakers and then summon them back into a special session to approve a compromise. However, republicans say they are only interested in a special session to override Vilsack's veto.
