Great Britons Still Say No To GMOs

posted on September 26, 2003

Those in Great Britain say no to gmo.

A public opinion Web site in the U.K. sums up feedback from 12-hundred letters and more than 600 public meetings on the issue of genetically modified food. Observers at the meetings counted five GMO opponents for every supporter or neutral person who attended.

Meanwhile, a survey done in the U.S., shows Americans' knowledge of genetically modified foods is not only low, but has declined. In 2001, 44 percent of those surveyed had heard a great deal about GMOs. Today, that number is 34 percent.
