Houston Recruits McDonald's For Weight Loss Campaign

posted on September 5, 2003

Houston, we have a problem. A Big ... fat ... problem.

The nation's fattest city, Houston, is encouraging its residents to lose weight. The city is seeking help in it's Get Lean Houston campaign from the folks who brought us Quarter Pounders, Big Macs and super-sized fries -- McDonald's.

The fast-food giant will offer a special low-fat menu of salads, chicken sandwiches and a veggie burger at its 253 Houston restaurants. McDonald's will also offer tips on how to get fit and distribute pedometers to encourage customers to walk.
