Snack Company Fights Obesity

Stop super-sizing single servings.

Kraft Foods is taking steps to fight obesity by putting a cap on the size of single-serving packages of its candy bars, beverages and vendor packs of Oreo cookies.

A Kraft spokesman said guidelines for setting the single-serving limit will include total calories and other nutrient contents.

Kraft, the number one U.S. food company, says it will also stop all in-school marketing campaigns.

Some analysts say Kraft is taking a "proactive" step in the face of lawsuits targeting the company's products. Last month a lawsuit sought to ban Oreo cookies in California. The lawsuit was later withdrawn.
