The Catcher In The Lab.

Government scientists say they've developed a new approach to analyzing pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables.

QuEChERS (pronounced catchers) was developed by scientists from USDA's Agricultural Research Service. It stands for quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged and safe.

Developers of the new system say QuEChERS will lower materials costs fourfold. The method also combines steps during testing, which reduces the chance for errors.
