Study: Milk Fat Fights Cancer

Got milk fat?

Ohio State University scientists say milk fat, often denigrated as a contributor to heart disease, produces a potent cancer-fighter.

According to their research on laboratory mice, the scientists found about half of the vaccenic acid consumed in milk fat is metabolized into a form of linoleic acid.

They say the process, called desaturation, is significant because linoleic acid is a powerful natural anti-carcinogen. Research on the process will continue.
