Corn, Beets, Weeds

Molasses, your lawn's best friend...

The multi-billion dollar lawn care industry is seeing growth in bio-based products.

One product made from corn gluten kills dandelions. The grain processing byproduct hinders germinating weed growth by killing the roots. And, since corn gluten contains 10 percent nitrogen, it also fertilizes the lawn. The weed-and-feed product can cost twice the as much as traditional chemical fertilizers, but is safe to apply around kids and pets.

Another weed-and-feed product, made from sugar beet molasses, kills all kinds of weeds and broadleaf plants. Like corn gluten, the product encourages turf growth and is safe for children and animals.
