A recent study of Cincinnati women has shed some light on American obesity.
Researchers found 60 percent of the women prefer large portion sizes at restaurants, half of the women always finish everything on their plate, and 60 percent skip meals to compensate for large portions.
The study also showed 80 percent of the women wanted to lose weight and 70 percent want to lose 20 pounds or more.
Experts say the best way to handle obesity is to resist the compulsion to "lick the plate clean." They encourage a focus on a balanced diet, reasonable portions, and exercise.
