The Web we weave … favors food.

The foods most pursued last year on the Lycos search engine of the World Wide Web include … ginger as the number one spice search. Cranberries received more fruit searches than strawberries, blueberries and raspberries combined!

Searches for the versatile legume, the soybean, trailed quests for pumpkins and tomatoes. Although it didn't make the top 10 list, tofu did receive more "hits" than steak.

And just what foods do comprise the Top 10? They are: fish, turkey, cookies, chocolate, candy, pizza, chicken, cheese, salsa and mushrooms.

Ice Cream and sushi were eleventh and twelfth.
