"This is a bust! Hand over that cookie!"
The Drug Enforcement Administration has published new rules regulating food products that contain industrial hemp.
The regulations state products containing hemp … like the use of hemp seeds in some cookies and cheeses … must not contain any amount of THC, the active ingredient considered a narcotic. Industrial hemp contains less than one percent THC, considerably less than the average 5% THC in it's illegal "cousin," marijuana.
While U.S. farmers are prohibited from growing industrial hemp as a crop, more than 30 other countries … including Canada, Germany and England … now allow industrial hemp to be grown.
