Find the fat.
Citing Americans need to know the fat content of the food they eat … the Bush Administration is asking health regulators to finalize a food labeling proposal.
The Food and Drug Administration first proposed the labeling in 1999, but it's never been issued.
The FDA estimates the revealing the trans fat on food labels would save between 2,000 and 56-hundred lives a year … if people read, and adhere to, the labels.
The FDA also estimates manufacturers would spend $400 (M) million dollars to relabel or reformulate food.
