Feeling a little fowl? take two eggs and call me in the morning!

The Scottish scientists who created dolly, the world's first cloned mammal, say they now intend to breed chickens that produce life-saving drugs in their eggs.

Scientists at Edinburgh's Roslin institute will join forces with a u.s.-based biotech company. they will combine the nuclear transfer technology used to create dolly ... with the biotech company's expertise in developing certain anti-cancer proteins.

The goal is to create chickens that produce eggs containing new drugs to treat serious diseases. Researchers working with other animals believe the birds provide a cheaper, faster, and unlimited protein production process through laying eggs.
