TALKING TURKEY ABOUT ALTERNATIVE ENERGY CREDITS...

A BRITISH FIRM STILL PLANS TO BUILD AN ENERGY PLANT IN MINNESOTA THAT PRODUCES ELECTRICITY BY BURNING MANURE. THE STATE HAS A HIGH CONCENTRATION OF TURKEYS AND HAS BEEN LOOKING FOR A SOLUTION TO THE WASTE PROBLEM.

THIS WEEK, THE MINNESOTA LEGISLATURE MAY HAVE HELPED TO ENSURE THE PLANT IS BUILT BY GRANTING ALTERNATIVE ENERGY STATUS TO TURKEY WASTE. THE DESIGNATION MEANS POWER COMPANIES IN THE STATE CAN CLAIM ENERGY PURCHASED FROM THE FOWL FUEL FACILITY AS PART OF THEIR ALTERNATIVE ENERGY REQUIREMENT.
