Before Reading: General Pre-Reading
Pre-viewing the text: before a reading assignment, I walk students through the text. I point out parts that are especially important (e.g., vocabulary, text features to watch). I explain how this reading relates to what we've been working on in class. It seems especially important to do this with technical reading.

Useful but Needs to be Modified
I'll continue to use this, but I will tweak it every time. I'd eventually like to create a more formal study guide for each section. Better yet, have the students create the study guide!
