Description |
I made an anticipation guide for our chapter on nutrients. They completed the guide before reading. When students read later, they checked the validity of their beliefs. It also helped them see what was important in the chapter.

Reflection |
This worked great. I've been using this strategy in other classes as well. I thought it would be more time consuming for me, but I've just shifted the focus. The time spent "up front" means my students are more prepared to really learn!
