Iowa Public Television to Broadcast Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union State Tournament Events
(Johnston, IA)--The Board of Directors of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) has selected Iowa Public Television (IPTV) as the television provider for its state tournament events.
The three-year agreement will begin with the 2014 Iowa Girls State Basketball Tournament championship games. IPTV will also televise the state finals in soccer, softball and volleyball. There are also plans to broadcast seasonal specials that will recap the swimming & diving, cross country and bowling state tournaments in the winter and the track & field, tennis and golf state championships in the spring.
“We are extremely excited to produce and broadcast the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Championships showcasing female athletes from around the state,” said IPTV Executive Director and General Manager Molly Phillips. “This is a natural fit as we provide top-quality television productions reaching a statewide audience in high-definition.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Iowa Public Television,” said IGHSAU Executive Director Mike Dick. “It was very important to us that every Iowan had the opportunity to watch our state tournaments on television. IPTV provides us with that opportunity. We are very happy to have the Iowa Girl showcased alongside all of the quality programming that IPTV provides to millions of Iowans each year.”
