Globe Trekker

Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily (#131)

Ian begins his journey on the French island of Corsica, throwing himself into every water sport imaginable before heading for the cooler mountain climes. Going south to Ajaccio, the birthplace of Napoleon, Ian notes the prominent Napoleon theme in most cafes and shops. Moving along to the Italian island of Sardinia, Ian rents an old Fiat to explore Orgosola, a former bandit town now famous for its powerful political murals. In Palermo, Sicily, Ian cooks with a local pasta chef, then attends the Festival of Santa Rosalia, enjoying its operatic music, flying angels and fireworks. [57 minutes] Closed Captioning
