Globe Trekker

Jamaica (#136)

Ian begins his journey in the once-famous hippie hangout and renowned beach resort of Negril. Later, he travels through the swamps with a crocodile expert and feeds a crocodile. He heads to Treasure Beach, a hideaway paradise, and then catches a bus to Bob Marley's mausoleum. Ian arrives in Hope Bay, where he stays with rastas who run a guest house and a school for orphaned kids. Visiting the area where Jamaican jerk chicken originated, Ian learns about Maroon culture, which is more African than Caribbean. On Blue Mountain, he watches the sunrise and gets a glimpse of Cuba.
