Globe Trekker

South Africa and Lesotho (#203)

Justine visits the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town, where she explores a township and consults a "sanoma," a South African faith healer. She then stops at Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned and speaks to one of his former cell mates. Justine boards the Trans Karoo Express for a trek through the lush wine regions north of Cape Town and then heads into the arid landscape known as the Great Karoo. She explores the city of Durban, home to a wide variety of cultures, and journeys on to the mountain kingdom of Lesotho. Justine ends her trip in Soweto, Johannesburg, where she has a tearful reunion with her childhood nanny. [56 minutes] Closed Captioning
