Globe Trekker

Hungary and Romania (#218)

Ian's journey begins in Budapest, where he samples the traditional Hungarian sausage, luxuriates at the thermal baths and steps into the past as he visits a communist theme park. He hitches a ride to Eger, where he visits a refuge for zoo animals, checks out the Baroque architecture and goes grape picking at a vineyard. Ian crosses the border into Romania, where his first stop is Transylvania's medieval town Sighisoara, the birthplace of the legendary Dracula. He then crosses the Fagaras peaks, enjoys a gypsy festival in Bistrita and tours the Romanian capital of Bucharest. [57 minutes] Closed Captioning
