Globe Trekker

Baja, California (#227)

Ian begins his journey down the peninsula in the border town of Tijuana, hitching south on Baja's only highway. After miles of uninterrupted cacti, Ian experiences a sea-spray shower at one of the world's best blowholes. In San Quintin, a typical one-horse town, he finds the only accommodation available is a faded hotel originally built for Hollywood stars. With two local fishermen in Mulege, Ian enjoys a whale-watching trip with friendly whales that come close enough to be touched. Ian is privy to an ancient ceremony in Mexico with the cave-dwelling Tarahumara Indians. [56 minutes] Closed Captioning
