Happy holidays from the West Coast! This one-hour program of highlights from the 2002 celebration reflects the sounds and moves of L.A.'s fascinating ethnic mosaic, a microcosm of the world. Each community welcomes the season, through dance, voice and music in the spirit of its culture. Attendance at the six-hour celebration, recorded live at the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion of the Music Center of Los Angeles County, is a ritual for Angeleno families. This 43-year old tradition, delivering the universal message of peace and love on thsispecial day, is shared with the entire nation for the first time.
