Program Description: PBS KIDS will launch a new world of adventure and discovery with the innovative preschool series, IT'S A BIG BIG WORLD, from award-winning television series creator Mitchell Kriegman ("Bear in the Big Blue House," "Clarissa Explains It All"). Children will be engaged by a diverse group of animal characters, exciting stories and world music rhythms, while a multi-level, age-appropriate science and geography curriculum taps into their natural fascination with a world much bigger than their immediate surroundings. The series is produced in "Shadowmation," a visually striking technique that combines puppetry, animatronics and computer generated animation to create a uniquely rich world of characters and environments. The producers of IT'S A BIG BIG WORLD work closely with a variety of educational advisors to ensure that the content and the way it is handled are age appropriate.
