Crossroads Café

Turning Points (#112)

In this episode Rosa overcomes her fear of driving and finally takes instruction to get her license. The cafe is vandalized by a local gang. One of the youths involved is Henry's younger brother who is being forced to join the gang. During a staged break-in the guilty gang members are caught by Brashov, community members, and the police. "Word Play" explains talking about the possibility of something. The "Culture Clips" segment looks at the problem of organized neighborhood gangs and the community members working to solve it.

Program Description: This English language learner (ELL) series blends comedy and drama to teach English to speakers of other languages. The stories feature characters whose lives intersect at Crossroad Café, a neighborhood restaurant, where together they experience the struggles, conflicts, joys and victories of everyday life.
