The interior of the Earth is very hot. Clues leave us to believe there is a metallic core surrounded by a rocky mantle. Huge, slow convection currents rise up, often resulting in earthquakes and volcanoes.

Program Description: Presented by young scientists, OUR EARTH is a new series that looks at the science of geology -- fossils, the Earth's core, tectonic forces, and the impact of the sun, wind and water. It also discusses why we need to understand geology.
