2008 Iowa Dance and Drill Team Championships

The 2008 Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Championships program showcases the creativity and athletic excellence of Iowa's highest ranked high school and college dance and drill teams. Nearly 5000 students from 270 high schools and 18 colleges competed at the Des Moines event in November and December of 2007. This two-hour special includes highlights from the winning performances. On-camera and voice-over commentary and interviews provide viewers with unique insights into the rigorous training necessary for perfecting performances and the criteria for judging. Interviews with current and former competitors, fans, and coaches are presented. A special feature story tells about the high school team from Davenport Assumption as they prepare for competition in "The Road to State." The program concludes with a beautiful music montage cut to the song "I Believe" and sung by Diana DeGarmo.
