It’s illustrated with stunning animation and photographs from NASA, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and astronomical observatories. This journey introduces the planets, stars, and galaxies that will be presented and discussed throughout the course.

Program Description: Astronomy: Observations and Theories explores a broad range of topics, concepts, and principles, from the motions of the visible sky to dark matter, from our own planet to the stars and galaxies. The series examines evidence for the big bang and continuing evolution of the universe and tracks the formation, life, and death of stars. Programs also depict how astronomers have come to know what they know about the universe and how they are still seeking answers to some of the most fundamental questions about the universe.
