Iowa's Simple Pleasures with Dan Kaercher

Delicious Destinations #2

Host Dan Kaercher learns how Iowa's smallest brew pub makes its specialty beers, how a Grinnell couple turned a dilapidated bank on old highway 6 in Ladora into a fine wine and food bistro, and what makes an Italian restaurant so special in the Mississippi river town of Clinton. Dan also visits the Maytag Blue Cheese factory. [28 minutes] TV-G Closed Captioning

Series Description: Iowa's Simple Pleasures compiles eight “theme” programs taken from its first two seasons of traveling the state. Dan Kaercher criss-crossed Iowa to find one-of-a-kind retreats and resorts and quaint and vibrant communities that are a must see. He visited some unusual museums and exhibits, and found spectacular spectator sports from baseball to racing to rodeos. He also took the time for active endeavors such as biking, canoeing and playing a round of disc golf. Of course, one of his favorite activities is finding the best dining experiences in every corner of the state. He visited so many restaurants and wineries the last few years, that we were able to create two episodes on just food and wine!
