Civil War: Ft. Sumter to Antietam (#104)

Forty-five days after Lincoln's election, south Carolina secedes from the Union. In less than a month, 6 more states secede and the Confederate States of America is founded. On April 12, 1861, the southern batteries shell Ft. Sumter, beginning the Civil War. Losses at Ft. Sumter and Manassas worry the North until General Grant turns the tide at Ft. Donelson.
