Your Inner Fish

Your Inner Fish (#101)

The genetic legacy of a fish that lurched onto land 375 million years ago is seen today in our DNA. [56 minutes] TV-PG Closed Captioning

PBS Video

Series Description: Based on Neil Shubin's popular book, YOUR INNER FISH transports viewers deep into the human body to discover the vestiges that connect us to animals from the distant past. Shubin, a University of Chicago anatomist, reveals why our hands resemble the fins of ancient fish, our ears link us to the earliest amphibians, and our genomes carry traces of our reptilian and primate ancestors. In short, the series reveals that the human body is a walking museum of the history of life on earth.
