The Juilliard Opera: "Hansel Und Gretel" (#2207)

LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER presents the Juilliard Opera Center and Opera Orchestra in a new production of Engelbert Humperdinck's " Hansel und Gretel," with sets and costumes designed by Maurice Sendak. This co-production of the Juilliard School, Houston Grand Opera Association, Inc., Canadian Opera Company, San Diego Opera, Indianapolis Opera and Baltimore Opera Company is based on the beloved children's fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. The cast includes Jennifer Marquette as Hansel; Sari Gruber as Gretel; Samuel Hepler as Peter, the broom maker; and Mariana I. Karpatova in the dual role of Peter's wife and the witch. The presentation airs live from the Juilliard Theater. Hugh Downs hosts. [146 minutes] Closed Captioning
