The Best of Old-Time Country Music

Special Consensus (#2004)

Celebrating their 25th anniversary, Special Consensus, a Chicago-based bluegrass band, performs a mixture of traditional and contemporary bluegrass. Featured are fine acoustic instrumentals, a capella gospel songs, original and classic bluegrass, and old-time swing tunes. The bands consists of Greg Cahill, banjo player and vocalist; Andrea Roberts, lead singer and bass player; Chris Walz, lead singer and guitar player; and Josh Williams, mandolinist, fiddler and vocalist. Songs include: "Logging Camp," "Silver Dew on the Bluegrass Tonight," "Irish Medley," "Can't Sit Down," "Our little Town" (written by Iowan Greg Brown ), "Blue in the Blue Ridge," "Purple Robe," and "Billy Boy."
