The Best of Old-Time Country Music

The Lynn Morris Band (#806)

The Lynn Morris Band, a traditional bluegrass band from Virginia, began playing together in 1988 under the leadership of Lynn Morris, who is a two-time national banjo champion. At the 1996 International Bluegrass Awards, Ms. Morris was nominated for five awards: Female Vocalist of the Year which she won; Instrumental Recording of the Year; and Gospel Recorded Performance. Her album called "Mama's Hand"was nominated for Album of the Year and the title song, written by Hazel Dickens, won as Song of the Year.
