The Best of Old-Time Country Music
Dry Branch Fire Squad (#809)
As one of Kentucky's most entertaining bluegrass bands, Dry Branch Fire Squad started playing together in 1976. The group has performed at the National Folk Festival and the Smithsonian Festival of American Folklife and is the host band for the largest folk and bluegrass festival in the Northeast, the Winterhawk Bluegrass Festival. Dry Branch Fire Squad has delighted audiences throughout the United States and Canada, and their recordings have been selected by the Library of Congress as among the most outstanding in recorded American traditional music. Twenty recordings have been produced to date, including two Bluegrass Unlimited "Highlight LPs." On OLD-TIME COUNTRY MUSIC, they combine a wide variety of bluegrass, old-time and gospel music with a whole lot of down-home humor. [28 minutes]
