    Barney and his young friends practice all of the songs and games they're going to do at the school's "Family Night" show, but Kathy is not very excited about the event. Kathy thinks her family is too small with only a mother and a grandmother. Barney and the rest of the kids show Kathy that a family with love is always big enough. [28 minutes]

  • Playing It Safe (#103)

    With Barney's special bag and some imagination, the group creates some make believe cars and learns about safety. The kids become members of Barney's Safety Patrol and sing songs about keeping your seat belts buckled, paying attention to traffic lights, and crossing the street safely.   • Hop to It! (#104)

    When Tina and Luci are playing basketball, Tina is disappointed when she can't play as well as her older sister or the other big kids. Barney stops by to show Tina all the great things she can do with exercise. Barney and the kids play games and sing songs about exercise and find out how fun it is to learn about their bodies. With new found energy and confidence, Tina ends up playing basketball as well as the others. [28 minutes]

  • Eat, Drink and Be Healthy! (#105)

    With his delightful songs and games, Barney teaches the children all about nutrition. They learn the importance of the four food groups and how to eat healthy snacks. Barney also tells an imaginative story of the perils of a picky eater. Special guest James Turner drops by to sing the group a silly song about the unusual cuisine of the animal kingdom.   • Four Seasons Day (#106)

    The weather is awfully strange when Bareny declares it "Four Seasons Day," a magical holiday that squeezes all the wondrous seasons in one day. Barney and the kids use their songs and imagination to sing in the spring rain; squirt themselves with sunscreen lotion on a hot summer day; rake leaves in the crisp autumn chill; and even learn to ice skate in the dead of winter.   • The Treasure of Rainbow Beard (#107)

    After the kids and Barney enjoy reading a scary pirate book, the book's character, Rainbow Beard, appears and gives them a treasure map of their own to solve. In order to find the treasure, the group must learn a variety of songs and games about colors and shapes. When they finally find the treasure the kids get a big surprise and learn a valuable lesson about sharing with others. [28 minutes]

Baby Bop learns a lesson about being greedy; a puppet show of "The Little Red Hen" teaches that rewards and responsibilities are linked.   • Down On Barney's Farm (#110)

    The kid's learn and draw pictures of farm animals, but Shawn is unhappy with his drawing when no one knows what it is. Barney pops in to cheer him up and show the children an imaginary farm firsthand. Barney's friend, Farmer Henderson, shows the kids all types of farm animals and Barney teaches Shawn that the beauty of classroom art is in the eye of the beholder! [28 minutes]

  • What's That Shadow? (#111)

    A sudden thunderstorm chases the kids into the classroom, where they are frightened by the rain, thunder and lightning. Barney arrives and tells them how to use positive thoughts to change their fears into fun. The kids make silly monster artwork, and then pretend they are funny, friendly monsters. Barney also helps Shawn overcome his fear of dogs when he meets Min's canine friend, Molly. [28 minutes]

  • Happy Birthday, Barney! (#112)

    It's Barney birthday and everyone is excited about throwing him the best party ever, using classroom materials and their imagination! Barney teaches his friends about birthday customs around the world and that receiving gifts is not the most important part of birthdays. [28 minutes]

  • Alphabet Soup! (#113)

    Min and Kathy are sad because they can't read words as well as Derek and the older kids. Barney arrives and Derek suggests the kids play "alphabet fun" and learn about this first step to reading. With Barney's help, the kids sing songs and play games related to each letter of the alphabet. The kids also learn the importance of the word "love" and get a brief lesson in upper and lower case letters. [28 minutes]

  • Our Earth, Our Home (#114)

    The school's "Earth Week" has the kids all abuzz about things they can do to protect the earth. Barney shows them the importance of recycling...creative crafts using household discards...the necessity for conserving resources, and clean water and air. They also discuss endangered species and perform a play about Johnny Appleseed that explains the importance of trees to our environment and the benefits of the kids planting trees themselves.     Mother Goose needs help! A bookworm has eaten the pages from her book of nursery rhymes, and Barney & Friends must help her remember the missing rhymes!     Michael is scheduled to play a cello solo at the school concert in a few days and he is nervous about playing in front of all those people. Barney invites his friend Greg Murray to teach the kids about music and help Michael learn that "practice makes perfect." Barney and his friends learn to identify musical instruments and their sounds and appreciate all the different varieties of music. [28 minutes]

    Barney & Friends are in the mood for an adventure--and they have one, when they all help Baby Bop learn more about neighborhoods! Imagination makes the journey magical with role-playing, an "invisible dog" chase, a scary visit to Dinosaur Days, and trips to make-believe versions of neighborhood points of interest!   • A Camping We Will Go! (#122)

    Min, Kathy and Tosha are studying nature in their class and wish they could go camping in the woods. Barney takes the group to an imaginary forest and camp site (our playground dolled up a little). Once there, the kids encounter polliwogs, a bullfrog, a duckling, a baby rabbit, a thieving raccoon, a bear scare, and a chorus of sunflower seeds...all just a vehicle for a good old-fashioned campfire sing-along. Activities depicted include: nature appreciation, in general; seed identification; recognition of similarly shaped, colored, sized, and textured objects; kindness to animals; campfire stories; and lots of singing.   • A Splash Party, Please (#123)

    The kids have planned a picnic and Barney's invited. After enjoying some healthy fare, the kids have fun with bubbles.     Barney & Friends enjoy a special day of fun, thanks to a magical "Carnival of Numbers" right at school!     The kids wish they could travel to other countries to see them firsthand. Barney & Friends use their imagination to travel to Scotland, Israel, Africa, China and Mexico, where hosts expose them to different songs, costumes, and customs.   • Doctor Barney Is Here! (#126)

    A scheduled visit to the doctor has Kathy feeling blue--but a dose of purple soon cheers her up, when Barney & Friends guide her through a make-believe medical check-up. Afterwards, Barney's friends (and Baby Bop) learn the "feel good rules" which keep bodies healthy and strong. It's a special day of songs and activities about "feeling good." [28 minutes]

  • Oh, What A Day! (#127)

    Tina's having a terrible day! Among other things, she thinks she's the cause of the family cat running away, and she's singing the blues. Barney and the kids try to restore her usually happy spirits. They try lots of things and Barney tells a story that shows how our feelings quickly change from moment to moment.     When Kathy and Tosha invite Barney to share their classroom studies about "homes" for people and animals, Barney helps bring the subject to magical life. The kids build a milk carton igloo, consider what life would be like underwater, learn about the different kinds of homes people occupy, followed by a lesson about hard work and safety courtesy of "The Three Little Pigs."     Luci receives a letter from her grandfather in Mexico detailing his recent birthday party. She wishes she could have been there. Barney and the kids decide to have their own fiesta by playing Mexican rhythm instruments, learning a Mexican folk dance, making tortillas and chalupas, and enjoying lots of songs and games. Luci gets a pleasant surprise when her grandfather shows up at the party! [28 minutes]

  • Everyone Is Special (#130)

    Every day is special when it's spent with Barney, but today, Barney's friends learn that they are special too! Min's whimsical attempt to "grow big and be special" is interrupted by the "special delivery" of a mysterious package for Barney! He saves his secret for later...but makes the time pass quickly by helping the kids explore all of the ways that they are special already. The kids try out the mechanical existence of robots, and discover that it's more fun to have differences. And since different people enjoy different things, Barney & Friends take time to dance, paint, and make music. Baby Bop learns the fun of trying something new. Next, they play games with two granparents and listen to their stories about what it was like to grow up without television. Then, the two grandparents join the children in games and songs.     In this episode, Barney taught the importance of being nice, a good helper and cleaning up. Barney sang a song in a different language and the kids sang the alphabet with Derek as the teacher. The children also made paper fish with safety scissors while singing about fish. [28 minutes]

  • Red, Blue and Circles, Too! (#204)

    Today, Barney and the children learn about different shapes and colors. First, they create sponge paintings, learning how to mix the three basic colors (red, yellow, and blue) to create different ones. Then, they play with colored hoops and sing songs. [28 minutes]

  • Honk!Honk! A Goose on the Loose (#205)

    In this episode of Barney and Friends, Mother Goose visits the children and Barney. She is on her way to the public library when she looses her goose, Clarence. They all sing a song about the library and fill out their own library cards. They recite Mother Goose rhymes together. In the end, the children work together to find Clarence and Mother Goose goes on her way. [28 minutes]

  • Hoo's in the Forest? (#206)

    In this episode, Barney and the kids learn about sounds. They journey to the woods and listen to different sounds that forest animals and trees make. Then, they sing with a frog and play a game of 'leap frog'. [28 minutes]

    In this episode, Barney and the children learn about how to learn to do other things. They learn how to skip, make bubble baths and the importance of staying clean. They also learn how to say hello and goodbye in French. [28 minutes]

  • Grown-Ups for a Day! (#208)

    In this episode of Barney & Friends, the children play grown-ups for a day. They each portray several grown-up careers including a taxi driver, a reporter, a veterinarian, an astronaut and a dancer. They are also treated to a marionnette show by two marionetteers; they also get to play with marionnettes. [28 minutes]

    In this episode of Barney & Friends, the children learn about art and drawing. Barney's friend, author and illustrator of children's books, Tomie DePaola shows them how he draws pictures and then writes a story about them. The children make hand-paintings and a book of their own. [28 minutes]

    In this episode of Barney, the children learn about exercising and how it can be a fun part of their lives. They exercise in their own exercise circus and eat healthy snacks. They also learn that it is nice to take turns while playing, and to be courteous to others. [28 minutes]

    In this episode of Barney & Friends, the kids learn about dentistry and dental care. First, they find out the tasks dentists perform and the ways dentists help patients stay healthy. Next, the kids learn dental care---how to take care of their own teeth by flossing, brushing, and cutting down on the amount of sweets they eat. Finally, they learn how to choose and eat healthy snacks. [28 minutes]

  • Alphabet Zoo, The (#216)

    In this episode of Barney, the kids learn about different street signs. They also take a trip to the zoo and match different letters with the different animals. While in the zoo a storyteller tells them a story about the zoo animals and why they live in the zoo. Finally, Jason tells the gang "I love you" in sign language. [28 minutes]

  • Having Tens of Fun! (#217)

    The subject of this episode is the number ten. First, the kids sing about the number. Then Barney and his guest, Mr. Tenagain, count to ten on their hands and sign 'hello' in Spanish. Finally, they all pretend to go to moon, counting down to ten and blasting off. [28 minutes]

    In this episode of Barney, the kids get ready for a feast. After Carlos reads a book about shopping, the kids set up their own grocery store. Baby Bop and Barney go shopping in the store to make a feast for the children. When they are finished, Stella the Storyteller comes buy to tell a story about a little boy shopping for his mother.   • Anyway You Slice It (#306)

    In this episode of Barney & Friends, the kids are getting ready for an international festival. They work on setting up booths and learning new dances from different parts of the world. The kids also hear a story from Stella the storyteller about being on a farm and taking care of the animals. Finally the kids learn how to make and bake all different types of bread. [28 minutes]

    In this episode of Barney & Friends, the kids pretend they are a train. Meanwhile, Shawn is making a suprise (birdhouses) for Barney and his friends in their treehouse. Finally, the children make a dog house for one of Min's puppies which Kathie (herself an adopted child) adopts. [28 minutes]

  • Classical Cleanup (#310)

    In this episode of Barney & Friends, the kids learn about classical music through the janitor, Mr. Boyd. He plays classical music on the piano for the children, and plays chopsticks with Tosha. Finally, the children clean up as Mr. Boyd sings "I Love You" in a classical syle. [28 minutes]

  • Our Furry Feathered Fishy Friends (#311)

    This episode of Barney features animals and pets. The kids sing songs about various pet tricks, a dog that sits and rolls over. Finally, Barney reads the book "The Dirty Dog," about a dog who loathes taking a bath. [28 minutes]

  • Gone Fishing! (#312)

    Barney and the kids pretend they are fishing on a large boat with Barney as the captain, Stella the Storyteller comes by to tell a story about fish and how they live in the sea. Finally, they all sing songs about being big. The lesson learned, no matter what one's size, you are never too small to help someone or too big to receive help. [28 minutes]

  • At Home with Animals (#313)

    Barney and the kids learn about the different types of animals in the rain forest. They sing a song about the rain and how it nourishes wildlife. They also learn about spiders and why they spin webs. Finally, Barney tells a story about the animals of the forest; the birds, the monkeys and alligators. [28 minutes]

  • It's Raining, It's Pouring.... (#314)

    Barney and the children go indoors when it begins to rain. Inside, they play a host of games with a parachute. Children's author Tomie dePaola reads his book "Charlie Needs a Cloak," about a boy who cannot fall asleep until he begins counting sheep. [28 minutes]

  • Camera Safari (#315)

    In this episode of Barney & Friends, the children make masks of their favorite animals and go on a camera safari. Barney turns on the adventure screen to show the children pictures of the cat family and the different characteristics of lions, tigers, leopards and cheetahs. Stella the storyteller visits with the story of "The Lion and the Mouse". The moral of the story is that you're never too big to ask for help or too small to offer it. [28 minutes]

  • Who's Who on the Choo-Choo? (#316)

    In this episode of Barney & Friends, an imaginary train stops by the school, dropping off toys, fruits and vegetables. Barney teaches us that eating fruits and vegetables and exercising helps keep hearts happy. The children decide to exercise by doing the "Baby Bop Hop". When BJ trys to carry too many toys, he learns that sometimes it's better to ask a friend for help. The train makes its final stop, dropping off Stella the Storyteller, who tells the story of "The Little Engine That Could". [28 minutes]

  • Are We There Yet? (#317)

    In this episode, "Are We There Yet?", Barney teaches the children some safe driving tips. Then, the children surprise Barney by making him a car of his very own. Barney promises to take them all for a ride, only after he completes some errands. After trips to the car wash, cleaners, library, snack shop, and a gas station, Barney is ready to go. Everyone hops in the car, buckles their seatbelts and goes off on a joy ride in Barney's new car. The children have a grand time, riding and singing along with the songs on the radio. [28 minutes]

  • Ship Ahoy! (#318)

    In this episode, "Ships, Ahoy!", Barney and the children learn about different types of boats. They build a make-believe ship and pretend to sail to Cocoa Island. When they land on the island, they sing a song about things found on an island. While exploring the island, they meet a talking parrot and "Fancy La Rue", a pirate played by Stella the Storyteller. Together they search for a hidden treasure; but in the end decide that new friends are the best treasures one can find. [28 minutes]

  • Hats Off to Bj! (#319)

    When BJ loses his favorite hat, the children help him try to find a new one. They find all sorts of hats which allow them to be many different characters. Barney reads a recipe and everyone works together to make a fruit salad. Barney shows the children different sizes of trucks on the adventure screen. Since BJ isn't satisfied with any of the found hats, the children decide to make him a hat. He thanks them but is very happy when he discovers that someone found his favorite hat and returned it in the mail. [28 minutes]

  • Up We Go! (#320)

    In this episode, "Up We Go", Barney and the children do lots of activities associated with flying. Stella the Storyteller tells a story about three butterflies who are all different colors but remain best friends. The children pretend to be passengers and flight attendants on a make-believe airplane. They also fly paper airplanes and kites in the sky. In the end, Barney surprises B.J. by taking him for a real plane ride. [28 minutes]

  • First Day of School (#401)

    Steven, excited about his first day at school, is helped by Barney and the kids prepare for his first day of kindergarten. Pretending that it's a real school day, Barney and friends help Stephen remember all that he will need to know for his first day, specifically, his numbers, letters, indoor and outdoor voice, backpack and school supplies, where the books are in his classroom, and to which room he must report. When Stephen expresses worry over remembering all these things, Stella visits from India, telling a story about an elephant and a mouse who learn that big things aren't hard to do. Just do them a little at a time. Meanwhile, Baby Bop, still too young to go school, sends Miss Etta and Scooter to spy on the kids' activities so that he too can pretend to be at school. Both Stephen and Baby Bob teach their young audience sabout school, how to do things for yourself, and how to use your imagination. [25 minutes]

  • Is Everybody Happy? (#402)

    "If you're happy and you know it"...then people can tell by the smile on your face. If you're sad or mad or any other emotion, people will be able to tell by the expression on your face. This is the message on which this episode of Barney and Friends focuses as Barney and the kids prepare the playground for the Kids' Carnival. Using their imaginations, they put on a puppet show of the story, "The Three Little Pigs", while Baby Bop learns a lesson about playing with things he's been instructed not to touch. [28 minutes]

  • Pennies, Nickels, Dimes (#403)

    While cleaning up the playground during Neighborhood Clean Up Week, Barney and the kids notice that Goldie the goldfish seems very lonely and decide to go on a pet store adventure to buy him a fish friend to keep him company. At the pet store they see puppies, cats, bunny rabbits, birds, snakes, lizards, and fish. Excitedly, they decide to all combine their money, sell lemonade and cookies, and collect aluminum cans to buy the fish, castle, and plant they want for Goldie's fish bowl. During all the activity they learn how valuable friends are, how to sort coins into pennies, nickels, and dimes, and how to ask if something belongs to someone before taking it. [28 minutes]

  • We've Got Rhythm (#404)

    The lovable purple dinosaur and his young friends share adventures featuring songs, dances and games that make learning fun for children. Barney and his dino-pals, Baby Bop and BJ, introduce a new cast of children and two new puppet characters -- Miss Etta Kette, a bird who teaches children about manners; and Scooter McNutty, a squirrel whose mishaps are a result of acting first and thinking later. Stella the Storyteller returns with tales of travel from around the world. [28 minutes]

  • Tick Tock Clocks! (#405)

    B.J., upset that Baby Bop is always late, decides that it's time for her to learn how to tell time. Barney and the kids, therefore, summon Dr. Tick Tock to make a wrist watch for Baby Bop, while they teach her her numbers and how to read a clock. [28 minutes]

  • Waiting for Mr. Macrooney (#406)

    Robert and the kids learn a special lesson about having patience while waiting for something important as they wait for Mr. MacRooney, the mailman, to bring a surprise for Robert from his cousin. While waiting they learn how the mail system works, decorate cookies in Barney's Bakery, and listen to Stella's story about a runaway ginger bread man. Yet, when Mr. MacRooney arrives, it seems as though he has a special surprise for everyone EXCEPT Robert, who becomes very sad until his cousin, Mateo, surprises him with a visit. [28 minutes]

  • Let's Build Together (#407)

    In this episode of BARNEY AND FRIENDS, Barney uses the adventure screen and the story "The House that Jack Built" to teach the kids about the different places people live, the different equipment used on construction sites, the parts of buildings, the various people who work together on a construction project, and the necessaray steps for building. The kids, with Barney's help, utilize all the information to build a huge castle on the playground and in the process learn the importance of working hamoniously together and never giving up. [28 minutes]

  • It's Tradition (#408)

    This episode of BARNEY & FRIENDS explores the various traditions that exist in families. After Barney explains that any special way shared by family and friends for doing something may be considered a tradition, the kids decide to use the Barney bag to create flags that reflect their own family traditions. Stella visits from Mexico to share the story "The Story Quilt" about a young girl's mother who takes pieces of material from family members' old clothing to make a warm quilt for her little girl. Barney and the kids sing a special song about the different types of families and then decide to go on a pretend camping trip, a tradition that exists in most of the kids' families. [28 minutes]

    In this episode of "Barney and Friends," the kids are taking pictures of each other and practicing for picture day at school. Barney tells them that for a nice smile you need healthy teeth. The Adventure Screen comes into the classroom and shows Baby Bop and the kids what a trip to the dentist is like. Barney gives everyone a toothbrush and they all practice brushing.     In this episode of "Barney and Friends" Emily is having a hard time writing her own "Mother Goose" rhyme. Barney shows up and brings along none other than Mother Goose herself to give Emily and the rest of the kids pointers on how to write nursery rhymes. She tells them that in order to write a rhyme, you first have to be smiling. Also write about what you see around you as well as your own imagination. Everyone sings "London Bridge Is Falling Down" and dresses up in English period costumes. Everyone then takes a look around the classroom and finds things that remind them of certain "Mother Goose Rhymes." Then they recite those rhymes; "Humpty Dumpty,""The Clock," and "To Market." Barney enlists the help of Jill, Robert, and Mother Goose to help perform a puppet show of "The House That Jack Built." Finally, all of the kids sit down and write their own rhymes before Mother Goose leaves. [28 minutes]

    In this episode of "Barney and Friends" ths kids try to figure out what they want to do when they grow up.
